On Monday, the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee hosted the 33rd Annual MLK Day Rally and March at Garfield High School.
Thousands of marchers attended workshops, listened to speakers, and marched to various government buildings throughout Seattle, including the youth detention center, county jail, police headquarters, and the county courthouse. Local clergy, church parishioners, and SPU students participated in this event to raise awareness of and protest against systemic racism, discrimination, and social injustice in our city and nation.
Thank you to all who participated in this event, and also to those who helped to organize it and get the word out!
