Join us tonight at 8pm in Upper Gwinn for a social justice panel, “Poverty, Disease, and Social Darwinism: Does America Hate Its Poor?” hosted by the Minority Association of Pre-health Students (MAPS).

Guest speakers include SPS professor Dr. Brian Bantum, as well as Dr. Patricia Dawson from the Swedish Cancer Institute, Dr. Stephen Bezruchka from UW Department of Health Services and Global Health, Councilmember Larry Gossett, Dr. Benjamin Danielson from Brown Children’s Clinic, and SPU Senior Arian Taher from MAPS.

The co-president of MAPS, Hannah Chong, says: “This event is intended to be a continuation of the Ferguson event last quarter…We were really inspired by the event and wanted to continue that… We want to focus more on poverty, homelessness, health and equality, and the way society has an impact on that.”
